Dr. Briseida Mema completed her Paediatric Residency and Critical Care Sub-specialty training at the University of Toronto, The Hospital for Sick Children. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Paediatrics and a Clinician Educator. During her training and as staff physician she has received many teaching awards. Her interests involve technical skills training, assessment in CBME era and learning transfer from simulation to the bedside. Her latest grant is in Medical Humanities dedicated to creating curricula that integrate literature and art with medicine. She is a member of the examination board for Critical Care Medicine, Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. She completed a Masters of Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, supported by a Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada grant in Fellowship for Studies in Medical Education. She is currently the Program Director for the Residency and Fellowship training Program in Paediatric Critical Care at the University of Toronto.
